  • GRADUATES:  Anyone who has or knows of a graduating high school or college senior, please let the church know as soon as possible.  If you would be kind enough to give us their full name, school from which they are graduating and their future plans for either continuing education or employment, it would be deeply appreciated.
  • WEDNESDAY EVENING PROGRAMS:  Please join us for all of our normal Wednesday activities.  Please join us for supper at 5:15 p.m.  The menu for this week: Chicken Pie, Sweet Potato Casserole, Cole Slaw, Rolls & Dessert.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   
  • MISSION OPPORTUNITY:  Mountain Grove will collect the Mother’s Day offering during May.  The offering is used to pay part or all of the bills at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital for individuals who have financial need.  To read stories of how the offering has benefited some patients, go to www.mothersdayoffering.org.  Please pray that Baptists across the state will support the offering financially and in prayer so that more individuals will see God’s love in action.
  • YOUTH CAMP: The youth are off to camp again this summer and we are planning on providing treat bags for them.  Things we have included in the past are devotion cards, bible bookmarks, snacks, chips and treats of any kind.  If you would like to participate in contributing to the bags, please see Lisa Cunningham.  There will be 11 participants this year.
  • BABY SHOWER:  Everyone is invited to attend a baby shower for Elizabeth & Jason Taylor on the afternoon of Sunday, June 2nd from 2 – 4 pm at the Episcopal Church of Ascension in Hickory.  The parents are registered at Target and Amazon.
  • BABY SHOWER:  All ladies of the church are invited to a baby shower for Ross and Miranda Hilton on June 2nd from 2-4 in the FLB.  It’s a boy! Registered at Target.
  • DEACON NOMINATIONS:  Deacon Nominations will be received next Sunday, June 2nd.  The congregation shall commence the selection of nominees for deacon (each member may vote for (1) woman or man for each vacancy).  The form to use for your voting is included in today’s bulletin.  Please pray for your nominations for deacons.  Remember that those rotating off are ineligible to run again this year.  Please return your nominations in next Sunday’s offertory plate.
  • DEAR CHURCH FAMILY:  We would like to thank you for the wonderful blessing of food and fellowship that we received.  Thank you with love, the Julius (Babe) Gross family. The thank you card is posted on the bulletin board outside the office.
  • MISSIONS OPPORTUNITY:  Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry is inviting members of their supporting congregations to visit the CCM facilities on Wednesday, May 29th.  If anyone is interested in going please let Linda Robinette know by Monday so that a time can be scheduled.
  • THANK YOU:  From Pastor Jerry Anderson, Minister of Senior Adults and Pastoral Care at Woodlawn Baptist Church:  I wanted to personally say “Thank you” for your help and assistance in collecting, providing, and delivering food for the Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina Food Drive Collection.  Thank you again for your support and for your work.  We were able to deliver a FULL TRAILER this past Saturday to Thomasville
